Granite is one of the more popular countertop materials on the market and a great choice for both modern or traditional houses. Available in a striking array of colors, and prices, granite's durability, longevity, and cost make it ideal for kitchen countertops and other heavily used surfaces, including table tops and floors. One of the most durable natural surfaces available, granite is known for resisting chips, cracks and heat damage.

We offer a wide variety of marble styles, colors, and prices. Known for it’s elegant beauty and refined style, marble has been a popular choice in homes for centuries. This beautiful stone is typically a solid grayish-white or cream color and has dark veins running through it, though there are other, rarer varieties that have a pale green or pink base color.

Marble is very strong and resistant to damage although, it is a porous stone and will require resealing twice a year. Placing hot cookware on marble may cause damage to the stone, and spilling acidic foods or liquids, like vinegar or lemon or lime juice, can dull it. However, polishes and sealants can increase marble's resistance considerably.

We offer a wide variety of quartz in all ranges of styles and colors. From classically styled white quartz, to dark grey quartz for those with a more modern and contemporary taste, we carry it all.

Quartz is one of nature’s hardest and most abundant minerals. Manufacturers of quartz countertops add pigments, resins and, occasionally, recycled content, to a base that is about 95 percent natural stone.

Quartz is tougher than granite and marble and doesn’t require sealing as it is naturally resistant to moisture, stains and bacteria. Quartz is customizable as it has a variety of edge treatments and installation options available.

    Edge Profiles

The edge profile of a kitchen countertop is a small detail that is often overlooked. At first, your edge profile may seem like a purely aesthetic concern, but it also serves many important functions.

The shape of your countertop's edge profile can have a huge effect on function, impacting everything from cleaning to safety. It's the surface you'll come into contact with most as you move through and use your kitchen, so its shape matters. We offer many types of edge profiles and our staff would be happy to help point you in the right direction as to which is profile is right for you and your home.

Whether you're needing a high quality stone for a small project, or wanting to remodel on a budget, we have you covered.

Universal Stone's remnant collection has a large selection of high quality materials left over from slabs we cut from previous jobs.

Come in anytime and check out our collection. One of our team members will gladly help you select the stone that suits you, and will help you design and get it cut for your project.
